MARY CYRUS
I’ve been photographing weddings, portraits, and events professionally since 2010. Before taking my business full time in 2014, I worked as Head of Photography for Earthbound Trading Company and built Mary Cyrus Photography on nights and weekends. More than a decade later, I still feel really lucky that this is my job. I get to meet wonderful people, be part of meaningful days, and create photographs that will only become more valuable with time.
I’m a bit of a genealogy nerd, which probably explains why photographs mean so much to me. The images I love most in my own family research are the ones that show personality, connection, and little glimpses of everyday life—not just what someone looked like. That’s what I want to create for my clients too: photographs that feel honest, personal, and full of the people and moments that made the day yours.
Outside of photography, I spend a lot of time gardening and tending our orchard and vineyard, reading fantasy novels, watching science fiction, and trying to keep up with our toddler and our three Great Danes who all weigh more than I do. No, the dogs don’t have saddles. Yet. My music taste is all over the place, from Bob Wills to Megan Thee Stallion, and I also play Celtic fiddle and am slowly learning the mandolin.
My husband and I married in 2009, and we live tucked away in the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas with our son and our three oversized dogs. Photographing weddings still brings back little memories of our own day, and I love seeing how completely different each couple and celebration can be.
Some of my closest friends started out as clients or fellow wedding vendors, which is one of my favorite things about this work. I’m always glad when a photography relationship turns into a real one!

That includes but is not limited to Texarkana, Mount Pleasant, Mount Vernon, Sulphur Springs, Paris, Tyler, Marshall, and Longview, Texas; Broken Bow, Oklahoma; Shreveport, Louisiana; and Southwest Arkansas.
