Catherine initially found me through the wedding photographer recommendations of two people who I considered to be from totally different areas of my life, but both are friends of hers! I looked her up on Facebook, being curious about who else we both know! I noticed within a few seconds of looking at her profile that her employer was listed as the small tech start-up that my husband's best friend had co-founded in Denton, Texas. That same best friend, Marshall, happened to be co-working with my software engineer husband in our dining room at the very moment when I received Catherine's inquiry! I popped my head out of my office to confirm that she was an employee of the same company that he founded, and Marshall vouched for her awesomeness (and I suspect he vouched for me with her as well). It seemed to me that with how many ways our lives overlapped, it was just meant to be for me to photograph her wedding to Ryan!
Their wedding was my first Greek Orthodox ceremony, and I found the traditions of the ceremony absolutely beautiful. St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Worth was a gorgeous backdrop for their ceremony. Ryan's family and friends are active in the Fort Worth Greek Festival and other cultural activities at their church, and that led to some awesomeness at their reception: the traditional Greek dancing was a blast to photograph!
Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House in Fort Worth is an architectural stunner. I loved featuring the house in the wedding party's portraits. The house's brick courtyard around back couldn't have been a better place to take in a perfect evening! Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine kept the delicious finger foods coming, and the cake that honored Catherine & Ryan's beloved dogs as part of their family (even if they couldn't logistically attend the wedding) was sweet in more ways than one!
